On Saturday 29th March the family, friends and colleagues of Ashleigh Moore are invited to gather for a brief ceremony at Norton Summit at 10.30am.
Ashleigh’s wife Justine wishes to say a few words and scatter some of his ashes around this spot which was so much a part of Ashleigh’s regular ride destinations for over 5yrs, since forming the Cancer Voices SA cycling team in November 2008.
Cyclists may start as a group from Kensington Park Oval (cnr The Parade and West Tce), leaving at 9.30am to ride up to Norton Summit. Less experienced riders may wish to ride up New Norton Summit Rd only, eg from the bottom hairpin bend, or from Morialta Vineyards – a relatively flat ride of about 1km distance. NB. Car parking is very limited at these spots.
Wear a Cancer Voices SA cycling jersey or item of yellow as a mark of respect and appreciation of Ashleigh.
Please register if you intend to come (drive or ride), to assist us know the sort of numbers we need to plan for. On this narrow winding road, riding single file is advised.
Light refreshments, coffee/ cakes etc can be purchased at the Scenic Hotel. Anyone wishing to stay on for lunch at the Scenic Hotel is advised to book a table in advance.
Car Parking spaces are available at Norton Summit behind The Summit Community Centre, 1 Crescent Drive, Norton Summit.
A rain-check may be called if the weather is very wet, and the event deferred to the Saturday, 12th April, same time, same place.
A memorial book for signing or leaving a thought about Ashleigh will be available. If you have a photo you wish to add, please bring that or send to firstname.lastname@example.org with your message, to be printed and incorporated into the memorial book.
