LIVESTRONG Day is LIVESTRONG's annual day to raise cancer awareness. LIVESTRONG Day brings together people all over the world to recognize the power of collective action in fighting the global cancer crisis.
Cancer Voices SA will again host another LIVESTRONG DAY RIDE in Australia. The ride is FREE and those who are up to a challenge ride through the Adelaide Hills are welcome to register. Show your support and WEAR YELLOW or your Cancer Voices SA team jersey (if you have one) and join thousands (around the globe) in showing support for the 28 million cancer survivors worldwide.
The event will commence at Kensington Gardens Oval and comprise of 3 Challenge rides (67km,35km,20km) that loop into the Adelaide hills and return to the start. NB. Please be aware that you will need to carry your own food, water and bike repair supplies appropriate for the route you choose to ride, as there will not be mechanical support vehicles, a sag-wagon, or food and water stops organised along any of the routes.
Refreshments (water, coffee, food etc) will be available for purchase at the start and finish at Kensington Gardens Oval.
The LIVESTRONG DAY RIDE is an open road event. You will be required to read , agree to and sign a waiver and bring on the day before you participate in the ride . If you are under 18 years old you will be required to have a parent/guardian read , agree to and sign this child waiver and bring on the day before you participate in the ride .You will be sharing the road with traffic. SA Road rules apply including riding no more than two abreast and then only when safe to do so. See more in Group Riding Tips.
There will be a rider information & safety briefing 10 mins prior to the start.
INSURANCE
Anyone participating in the Livestrong Day Ride event does so at their own risk of injury, loss of life or damage to property. Cyclists participating in community generated events should have their own cycling specific insurance.
EVENT CANCELLATION
If the Bureau of Meteorology forcast for extreme weather conditions on the day then the organiser will determine if the event is to be modified or cancelled.
